Medici from the early Renaissance. Also in the proximity of Borgo San Lorenzo, the principal place of the Mugello,
which was again developed after an earthquake 1919 (Pieve San Lorenzo), are the castle-similar mansion Cafaggiolo,
a summer seat of the Medici, and that Castello del Trebbiowith gardens from that 15. Jh. Scaperia: Palazzo dei Vicari.
Surrounded by close stone oaks of forests the monastery Vallombrosa lies (at the 11. century). The small old part of
town of Certaldo, determined by buildings of bricks , lies on a hill over the Elsa valley. In the church SS. Michele e Jacopo
is kept the body of the poet Boccaccio, in that Casa Boccaccio its old age to have spent is. At the city hall Palazzo Pretorio
